Mission

The Substance Abuse Assessment Center of Kansas (SAACK) is one of Kansas' five Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Centers. It is a not-for-profit company which contracts with the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Services.

SAACK's charter is to:

  • provide a central point of entry to state funded substance abuse treatment services;
  • determine financial and residency eligibility;
  • provide an assessment for alcohol/drug abuse;
  • refer to an appropriate substance abuse program;
  • review progress in treatment and continuing appropriateness of placement.

SAACK provides services in Region 1. This area includes Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Rice, Sedgwick, and Sumner counties in south central Kansas.

Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Centers are partially funded by a grant from the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, Division of Health Care Policy, Mental Health, Addiction and Prevention Services.
